Aquis Exchange is looking to hire an Associate Systems Administrator to maintain the day-to-day operational resilience of our exchange platforms.

You will provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd line Linux technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance across virtual and on-premise systems, working closely with Systems Engineering and internal teams to keep our infrastructure running smoothly.
The role demands a strong understanding of Linux environments, sharp problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Beyond the day-to-day, this is a senior position — you will be expected to lead and mentor junior team members, drive process improvements, and take ownership of projects end-to-end. Strong analytical and organisational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine appetite to learn are all essential.
No two days look the same, and the ability to shift thinking quickly when new challenges arise is just as important as the technical knowledge you bring.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitor and support live exchange platforms during operational hours.
- Participate in a support rota of early, late, and flexible day shifts covering exchange hours 7am – 6.30pm, providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support across the platform..
- Availability for out of hours changes will be required on occasion, including evenings and weekends, for implementation of changes and datacentre visits for hardware related tasks. Compensation is provided by means of TOIL or Overtime.
- Responsible for logging, categorising, and prioritising IT and security alerts to resolution, or triaging and escalating as necessary.
- Manage and respond to queries and tickets sent to the team from both internal teams and external clients.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux-based servers and systems, from physical hardware installations to virtual machines.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure systems are secure and up-to-date, including OS upgrades, application updates, and remediation of annual Penetration Testing findings.
- Assist with the onboarding of new platforms and provide final signoff of technical architecture.
- Administer logging and alerting services (Nagios, SolarWinds, etc), including creation and amendment of rules and providing documentation on monitoring standards.
- Support technical teams with Linux expertise during project implementation as required.
- Take ownership of projects from coordination through to development and deployment.
- Identify where processes can be improved and highlight where automation improvements can be made.
- Ensure that all policies, procedures, and documentation are kept up to date.
- Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on best practices, developing technical knowledge through training.
Required Skills/Experience
- 5+ years recent experience working in a Red Hat Linux environment troubleshooting Linux servers and applications. RedHat/Rocky Linux preferable but not essential.
- RHCSA or similar is advantageous but not required.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, including file system management, permissions, system logs, services, performance monitoring, security hardening, and systems lifecycle.
- Experience monitoring and optimising system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance overall efficiency.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMware, OpenShift).
- Knowledge and experience of application delivery technologies such as TCP/IP, LAN networking, DNS, HTTP(S), Web Sockets, and SFTP.
- Prior experience using a ticketing system within a helpdesk environment.
- Experience using and/or administering IT monitoring systems such as Nagios or SolarWinds.
- Experience with a version control system such as GitLab required.
- Bash scripting on Linux systems required.
- Basic working knowledge of AWS desirable but not essential.
- SQL or similar database knowledge desirable.

Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the market surveillance regulatory department of Aquis Exchange is to carry out real-time and T+1 market surveillance to ensure the maintenance of an orderly market and compliance of all regulatory requirements in traded equity securities. The Surveillance Analyst will work as part of a team to supervise market activity, utilising various methodologies including electronic monitoring tools and alerts, and liaising with external customers and regulatory bodies. The Surveillance Analyst will also assist in the continued design and development of the in-house built market surveillance system. They will also assist in the supervision of Aquis surveillance clients in other asset classes.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Surveillance of client activity on Aquis Exchange platforms.
- Assist in the development of Surveillance system enhancements and subsequent testing.
- Identifying issues with Surveillance systems and raising with development.
- To draft quarterly ARCC reports associated with the departments activity, including data and rationale for discrepancies in alert numbers.
- Closely monitor the Surveillance manual of both Aquis and Technology Clients.
- Assist the Head of Market Supervision with identification of regulatory issues impacting transaction authorisation, structure, execution and marketing with the provision of potential solutions and / or alternatives if required.
- Prepare documentation for FCA STOR visits, as well as post-analysis of remedial actions.
- Maintain the trading holiday calendar, monitoring when markets have half-days or are closed.
- Maintaining reference prices, as well as monitoring the security status of stocks.
- Assist with identifying market abuse risks and Near Miss and submitting STORs to the FCA.
- Maintain close communication with Technology Clients, answering queries about Surveillance as well as the Surveillance system.
- Approval of Operational trading notices.
- Well-versed in Emergency Business Continuity Procedures (EBCP), in the event of an outage, and providing incident reports.
- Provide alert data and minutes for weekly team meetings.
- Assist with maintaining the FCA MDP portal.
- Participate in regulatory correspondance such as Surveillance investigations, rulebook updates and data reporting.
- Actively participate in maintaining the Surveillance Monitoring Programme by owning deliverables.
- Carry out KYC checks in investigations.
Required Skills/Experience
- Market Surveillance experience from within a bank, broker or venue;
- Good knowledge of FCA and exchange rules, systems experience (Refinitiv/Bloomberg), full understanding of market abuse risks, including experience of MAR5 Risk Analysis process.
- Business understanding of equity, equity related products and other asset classes;
- Excellent team player, able to work on own initiative with limited supervision;
- Ability to establish strong working relationships and influence key stakeholders

The primary responsibilities of the Operations Analyst will be maintaining and running the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms.

Aquis is a growing business and this list of exchanges which the Exchange Operations Team supports may grow in the future.
The operations team currently work a weekly shift rota covering the hours 07:00-18:00. There may also be some evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible, along with other operations analysts, for the day-to-day management of the exchange platforms.
- Provide 1st line support to connected clients
- Work with other departments (Compliance, Surveillance, Infrastructure and Sales) to ensure appropriately monitored live operations of all platforms
- Support the build out and configuring of new exchange platforms
- Take a lead role in technology client support, including platform delivery management, support and knowledge transfer
- Raise and deploy changes to support the day to day running of multiple exchange platforms
- Compile outage reports for any production outages which occur on the operated platforms once the outage has been rectified
- Be a subject matter expert of the exchange platforms offered from a technological perspective
- Take part in release review meetings prior to upgrades
- Actively raise and pursue improvements and changes that will benefit the team and the wider Aquis ecosystem

- Extensive experience using Unix/Linux servers
- Ability to write advanced SQL queries and a strong understanding of relational databases

- Proven use of GIT or similar

As part of the Product Management team, you will own the analysis and implementation of new initiatives and features for the Technologies department but closely interacting with the stake holders across all 3 of Aquis’ business lines. Acting as a bridge between our stakeholders and engineering, you will be responsible for ensuring that product features align with the clients/business needs, gathering requirements, project planning, documenting solutions and more.
This role will involve extensive interaction with external stakeholders and requires in depth knowledge on tradable financial products. Occasional business travel will be required.
A high degree of attention to detail and professionalism is key to the role of maintaining client relationships. The successful candidate should be able to own and manage new product features concurrently, overseeing the delivery of software throughout the SDLC and escalating risks to delivery where appropriate. An understanding of regulated markets, trading venues and cross-asset instruments (such as equities and ETFs but also listed derivatives and bonds) will also be beneficial. Affinity with the technical aspects of trading will be a positive.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Requirements gathering – comprehensive scoping of stakeholder needs, collaborating closely with our development teams to translate these requirements and implement an engineering solution.
- Project management – drive the delivery of product initiatives. Defining project timelines and identifying dependencies and risks to delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication – Liaise with external and internal stakeholders (including sales, operations, compliance, surveillance, and technical teams) to provide updates and ensure product objectives are met.
- Contribution to the Product Roadmap – contribute to the product roadmap in line with Aquis’ evolving business priorities.
- Client Onboarding – develop and provide comprehensive training materials (in English) for internal teams and clients, ensuring a clear understanding of product features and functionalities.
- Innovate and collaborate – Solve problems with innovative solutions. Have the confidence to challenge stakeholders and determine the most appropriate solution. Propose process, technology, and framework changes to improve implementations.

The primary responsibilities of the Support Team Lead will be maintaining and running the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms.
The primary responsibilities of the Support Team Lead will be maintaining and running the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms.
You will be the first point of contact for operational support related to maintaining and running the Aquis and Aquis client exchange platforms. You will lead a small but dynamic team responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our services, particularly during market hours. Your role will blend hands-on technical support with leadership responsibilities, as well as exposure to equity and derivatives trading environments.
Aquis is a growing business and this list of exchanges which the Exchange Operations Team supports may grow in the future.
The operations team currently work a weekly shift rota covering the hours 07:00-18:00. There may also be some evening and weekend work.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Responsible, along with other operational team members, for the day-to-day running and maintenance of the Aquis platforms
- Leading and mentoring a 1st line support team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Providing first line support, answering phone calls and monitoring help desk systems, dealing with basic issues and escalating other calls to the appropriate person
- Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries
- Performing troubleshooting and collection of information for effective issue diagnosis and internal escalation
- Maintain security reference data for the admissions/withdrawals/amends/edits of securities across all platforms
- Maintain and enhance knowledge base and documentation
- Work with other departments (Compliance, Surveillance, Infrastructure and Sales) to ensure appropriately monitored live operations of all platforms
- Raise and deploy changes to support the day to day running of multiple exchange platforms
- Compile outage reports for any production outages which occur on the operated platforms once the outage has been rectified

- Degree level qualification and/or 5 years of experience

Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and partners as part of an account management function.
- Build up the target pipeline, initiate contact with leads/prospects and work to move them through the sales stages, qualifying and reporting on all opportunities in a timely and proactive manner.
- Documentation/tasks required throughout the deal lifecycle such as RFI and RFP responses, commercial structure compilation, workshops. Coordination of internal groups and influencing external parties to bring about positive commercial outcomes.
- Maintain and update relevant CRM systems to manage flow of information and activity between Aquis and our clients, prospects and partners.
- Market intelligence gathering - research and target likely current matching engine supplier and build up approximate contract renewal timelines.
- Work with Operations, Product, Infrastructure, QA and Development to build up a standardised product offering and ensure appropriate timelines for delivery to appropriately manage client expectations.
Required Skills/Experience
- Excellent rapport building skills.
- Good understanding of securities trading with a preference for regulated products such as cash equities, bonds and derivatives.
- Good knowledge of market structure including lit vs. dark trading, CLOB, auctions and any general knowledge on the landscape of European trading in the MiFID 2 world would be advantageous.
- Experience in fostering and maintaining client relationships.
- Demonstrable track record of selling and working alongside technical implementation teams to deliver technology solutions into financial services institutions.
- Diligent about administrative tracking tasks such as Salesforce usage.

Responsibilities and Duties
- 1st line desktop, voice and remote access support across Aquis offices and remote users.
- Setup new IT equipment for users, including laptops, desktops, telephones, and mobile phones.
- Managing users and groups within Active Directory.
- Responsible for implementing approved procedures (change control, joiners/leavers, etc.)
- Support and maintain Microsoft Teams AV equipment.
- Prepare and maintain up to date documentation.
- Manage relationships and work with vendors to escalate issues when appropriate.
Required Skills/Experience
- Preferred background in IT through college or university studies, or a similar educational pathway; however, candidates with a genuine passion for IT and a strong desire to learn and develop their technical skills will also be considered.
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve issues with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office 365, including standard desktop applications.
- Experience managing users and groups within Active Directory desirable.
- Installing new software and hardware (laptops, printers, workstations, etc.).
- Troubleshooting 1st line VPN, and networking issues.
- Working knowledge of MDM (mobile device management) software desirable.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

Join the Aquis Technologies sales team to build, manage and engage with prospective and existing clients for technology licensing opportunities for the exchange technology infrastructure and services provided by Aquis Technologies and SIX Group associated firms.

This will involve working to identify target prospective clients, key contacts, possible product offerings and qualifying the targets while understanding the overall sales stage process of pipeline building and conversion as well as contributing to the future requirements product development roadmap.
The successful candidate will also help manage the relationship with existing clients and looking for opportunities to upsell.
Creating and managing the flow of documentation (legal and functional) between Aquis and prospects/clients will also form part of this role. Familiarity with standard Salesforce functionality such as opportunities and sales stages essential to produce regular reports and track opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a strong and positive work ethic with the ability to forge lasting relationships (both internal and external) at all levels, an excellent understanding of securities trading.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain relationships with existing clients and partners as part of an account management function.
- Build up the target pipeline, initiate contact with leads/prospects and work to move them through the sales stages, qualifying and reporting on all opportunities in a timely and proactive manner.
- Documentation/tasks required throughout the deal lifecycle such as RFI and RFP responses, commercial structure compilation, workshops. Coordination of internal groups and influencing external parties to bring about positive commercial outcomes.
- Maintain and update relevant CRM systems to manage flow of information and activity between Aquis and our clients, prospects and partners.
- Market intelligence gathering - research and target likely current matching engine supplier and build up approximate contract renewal timelines.
- Work with Operations, Product, Infrastructure, QA and Development to build up a standardised product offering and ensure appropriate timelines for delivery to appropriately manage client expectations.
Required Skills/Experience
Excellent rapport building skills.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, in conjunction with the head of QA and other team members, manual and automated test scripts and scenarios as well as implement and monitor/analyse the results
- Analyse application of testing methodologies and phases, change requirements and prepare test cases, data and expected results
- Scope and design regression testing (manual & automated)
- Monitor and report testing of large systems
- Create and maintain strong working relationships, with internal departments and business groups
- Take ownership of delegated tasks and see things through to completion
- Support the QA team in implementation of strategic solutions, including test automation
- Ensure and maintain quality delivery of all releases
- Liaise with technical and business analysts on requirements and solution definition
- Act as test lead for small projects
- Defect and issue management. Escalation as appropriate
- Provide testing support and guidance for all team members
- Attend team progress meetings and provide task progress updates to the group
- Provide supporting documentation where appropriate
Required Skills/Experience
- Experience of Unix/Linux environments
- Experience with Containers and Docker usage.
- Python & scripting knowledge
- Knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Demonstrable experience of testing complex software solutions and understanding of the full project lifecycle experience
- Experience in testing Finance Markets applications, including Cash Equities
- Strong analytical skills combined with a structured methodical and hands-on approach with passionate attention to detail
- Demonstrate good judgement in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritising multiple objectives and initiatives and execute tasks within a dynamic environment
- Willingness to take ownership of tasks and deliver a finished piece of work.
- Demonstrate a logical thought process and able to work accurately under pressure
- Self-starter and able to work well within a close-knit team environment
Desirable
- ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certified
- Business knowledge of Front, Middle and or Back Office systems
- Finance Market Regulations and Reporting Rules
- Knowledge and understanding of the FIX protocol
- Experience in Derivatives, Asset management, Bonds

Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the role is to work within the QA team and liaise with the Development, Product, and Operations teams as a both a Front-end and Back-End tester ensuring that the Aquis releases, upgrades and bespoke projects are functionally tested to a high standard confirming a reliable and quality product is delivered to our clients. A small portion of the analyst’s time will also be spent providing testing guidance and support to our clients and third party vendors.

- Manual and Automated testing and validation of Aquis’s Front end and backend systems
- Automation of Front-End testing using Playwright with python
- Experience of E2E test automation using Playwright (or Cypress/Selenium) for web and desktop applications
- Analyse application of testing methodologies and phases, change requirements and prepare test cases, data and expected results
- Scope and design tests (manual & automated)

- Experience in automating tests and report generation.
