Semper Fortis reaches agreement to acquire new Rocket League roster for the 2022/23 season

Semper Fortis Esports PLC (AQSE: SEMP), the esports company focused on establishing esports teams and forming brand and technology partnerships has reached an agreement to acquire a new team for the upcoming RLCS Rocket League season.

This is part of the Company's strategy to operate up and coming esports teams on a lower cost base and to work with the players and teams in order to maximise their potential. The Company has a track record of doing this with its previous Rocket League roster, who were developed into an established team, which led to the sale of one of the players for $35,000.

The new acquisition also enables the Company the exciting opportunity of expanding in the MENA region on the back of recent news that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be making large investments into becoming a world hub for esports and was focused on growing its own booming gaming industry,

SMPR Esports upcoming roster is made up of 3 players, AbuHumaid, Mohammed Hamad (20), Osama Ali Al-Samani (16) and Abdullah Azim Alrwuili (20), all of Saudi Arabian nationality.

The team will be supported by team manager Oliver William Podesta (20) from the United Kingdom and Team Coach Valentin Leproux (21) from France.

The team will begin competing under the SMPR Esports brand starting from the Fall: Invitational MENA Regional 3 taking place between Thursday 3rd November and Saturday 5th November 2022.

Jassem Osseiran, COO of Semper Fortis Esports, commented: "After our amazing experience in competing at the Gamers8 tournament in Riyadh last season, it has become apparent that the MENA region will become one of the most active esports growth areas in the coming years. Gaming and Esports in Saudi Arabia have been given a boost from government initiatives. We are thrilled to have signed our new roster and look forward to competing in the RLCS MENA division as well as collaborating with brands and resources in the region."
