Italian Parliament approves legislation supporting return to nuclear energy

Reveille [AQSE: REV], the Italy-focused uranium exploration and development company, notes that the Italian Senate has given final parliamentary approval to the Government’s framework legislation concerning the reintroduction of sustainable nuclear energy in Italy.

The framework legislation delegates authority to the Italian Government to adopt, within twelve months of its entry into force, implementing decrees establishing detailed measures for the production and use of sustainable nuclear energy, the manufacture and reprocessing of nuclear fuel, radioactive-waste management, decommissioning and the reorganisation of relevant national regulatory functions. These decrees may also amend existing legislation. Their content and effect, including any implications for the regulatory framework applicable to uranium activities, will be assessed as they are published.

Reveille is not involved in the development, construction or operation of nuclear-power facilities. The Company is focused on advancing its applications for exploration licences over the historic Novazza and Val Vedello uranium projects in Lombardy and, following the grant of the relevant licences, intends to undertake responsible exploration, verify historical data and progress modern geological work towards the definition of mineral resources in accordance with internationally recognised reporting standards.

The Company considers the Italian Parliament’s final approval of the legislation to provide a positive strategic backdrop to its activities. It reflects a clear national policy direction towards examining the reintroduction of nuclear energy within Italy’s long-term energy mix, with stated objectives including energy security, resilience, strategic independence, industrial competitiveness, decarbonisation and energy-cost containment. This further reinforces the strategic relevance of Italy’s domestic uranium resource potential.

The approval coincides with growing momentum for nuclear energy across Europe, driven by the need for secure, reliable and affordable low-carbon power. Recent examples include Newcleo’s Nasdaq listing, which raised US$247 million in gross proceeds, and EDF’s announced plans to deploy up to ten small modular reactors across the European Union by 2035, including a potential project in Italy with Italian industrial partners.

Reveille’s Italian subsidiary, Futuro Energetico Italiano S.r.l., is progressing the environmental impact assessment process in support of its applications for exploration licences over the Novazza and Val Vedello uranium projects in Lombardy. Together, these historically explored projects comprise Italy’s largest known uranium deposits and have benefited from more than 87,000 metres of historical drilling and approximately 17 kilometres of underground development. Historical estimates indicate that the projects contain approximately 15.8 million pounds of U₃O₈; these estimates are historical in nature and are not reported in accordance with a current internationally recognised mineral resource reporting standard. The licence applications relate solely to exploration activities, including the verification of historical data and modern geological work, and remain subject to the applicable environmental and regulatory approval processes.

Ippolito Ingo Cattaneo, Executive Director of Reveille, commented:

“The final parliamentary approval of this framework is an important milestone for Italy’s energy policy, underlining the Government’s renewed focus on energy security, strategic autonomy and the potential future role of nuclear energy in Italy.

Reveille is uniquely positioned as an Italian-led company advancing exploration permits over the country’s largest historical uranium deposits. We remain focused on progressing the Novazza and Val Vedello permitting processes responsibly and constructively with all relevant authorities and local stakeholders.”

Notes to Editors

Reveille Resources plc (AQSE: REV) is an Italy-focused uranium exploration and development company established to unlock the value of the country's historic uranium deposits.

The Company's principal assets are the Novazza and Val Vedello uranium deposits in northern Italy, which together represent one of Europe's most significant historical uranium districts. Collectively, the projects have benefited from more than 87,000 metres of historical drilling, approximately 17 kilometres of underground mine development, and what the Board believes would equate to hundreds of millions of euros of exploration and development expenditure if replicated today. Historical estimates indicate a combined exploration target of approximately 15.8 million pounds U₃O₈. These estimates are historical in nature and are not reported in accordance with any current internationally recognised mineral resource reporting standard.

Reveille's strategy is to identify and advance uranium projects that have benefited from substantial historical exploration and technical work but where value has yet to be fully realised due to geopolitical, technological, financial or historical factors. By applying modern exploration techniques and internationally recognised reporting standards, the Company intends to verify historical data, advance exploration and work towards the delineation of mineral resources in accordance with internationally recognised reporting standards.

While Italy remains the Company's principal area of focus, Reveille will selectively evaluate additional uranium opportunities elsewhere in Europe and in other Western jurisdictions where similar value creation opportunities exist. The Company is committed to advancing its projects responsibly, working closely with local communities, regulators and other stakeholders to ensure that exploration activities are undertaken to the highest environmental, technical and governance standards.
