Aquis Stock Exchange (“AQSE”) today announces that Michael Berkeley will step down as Chair of the AQSE Board, with current Independent Non-Executive Director, Danny Lopez MBE appointed as his successor, effective from the 1st April 2026.
Danny’s experience across finance, technology and international markets will be invaluable as AQSE continues to evolve its platform and support the next generation of innovative growth companies. He is currently CEO of the award-winning cyber security company Glasswall and a member of the City of London Corporation’s Competitiveness Advisory Board. Earlier in his career, Danny held senior roles in the UK government and financial services, including as British Consul General to New York, CEO of London & Partners and senior positions at Barclays in the UK, US and India.
Michael has served as Chair of AQSE since 2020, having previously been a Non-Executive Director of the predecessor exchange for four years. During his tenure he oversaw the integration of that business with Aquis, and has since guided the exchange through a period of significant development, reinforcing its role in supporting entrepreneurial and growth companies to access public capital.
Alasdair Haynes, President of Aquis Exchange and CEO of AQSE, commented:
“I would like to thank Michael for his commitment and stewardship of AQSE over the past six years. I have greatly valued his support, insight and counsel during periods of important progress for the exchange. We are now delighted to welcome Danny as Chair. Danny has already made a significant contribution to AQSE as a NED, and I look forward to working together as we continue to develop AQSE and deliver on our strategic ambitions.”

Michael Berkeley, Outgoing Chair, added:
“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of AQSE and to work alongside such talented and committed colleagues. I am particularly proud of the progress the business has made, including the expansion of our broker and online trading community and the significant growth in liquidity across our listed companies. Having overseen the delivery of a number of strategic initiatives to drive growth, including the integration into SIX Group last year, I believe this is the right moment to hand over to new leadership. I am delighted to pass the role to the very capable Danny and wish him and everyone at AQSE every success for the future.”

Danny Lopez MBE, Incoming Chair, said:
“I am honoured to take on the role of Chair at AQSE. The exchange plays an important role in helping ambitious growth companies access public capital and connect with investors, and I look forward to working closely with the Board and management team to build on the exchange’s momentum in the years ahead. Initiatives such as the recently launched Aquis IPO Academy, developed with Barclays Eagle Labs, demonstrate AQSE’s commitment to supporting the next generation of companies on their journey to the public markets and strengthening the UK’s capital markets ecosystem.”
