SHROPSHIRE VILLAGES FIRST TO GO LIVE WITH FIBRE-TO-THE-PREMISES

Rural Broadband Solutions Plc (AQSE: RBBS), a leading provider of broadband services to rural areas of the UK, has announced that Stiperstones and Woolston in Shropshire are its first locations to have fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) technology rolled out.

The investment in this area of the county will also include the surrounding villages of Habberley and Cardington by the middle of September. Customers have a choice from the four packages offered by SWS Broadband, a subsidiary of RBBS: 30Mbps at £26, 90 Mbps at £36, 300 Mbps at £42 and 900 Mbps at £89 per month, respectively.

Chris New, CEO of RBBS, said: "We are excited to announce that our first two gigabit capable FTTP networks are now ready for service in the villages of Stiperstones and Woolston, thus enabling 68 premises in deep rural Shropshire to enjoy the benefits of fibre broadband. This is part of a project to connect just under 5,000 properties to our FTTP network before Christmas 2022, with further staged announcements as each location goes live.

We are prioritising high speed connectivity within rural communities through the implementation of a hybrid infrastructure and are dedicated to connecting rural communities to fibre with help from the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, Project Gigabit."
