RentGuarantor Releases Statement Outlining its Services on A-Level Results Day 2022

RentGuarantor (AQSE: RGG), a provider of rent guarantee services to prospective tenants across the socio-economic spectrum wishing to rent property in the UK private rental sector, releases a statement regarding how its services can be accessed by new university students who received their A-Level results today and are in need of a UK-based guarantor in order to secure a rental property.

Statement from Paul Foy, CEO:

Young people all over the country will receive their A-Level results today. A momentous day in the annual calendar full of mixed emotions. Whilst some may have expected more, others may be elated at their outstanding achievement. In any case, they will be exploring their options in higher education.

Regardless of circumstances, one thing's for sure, a lot of young people are about to have their very first taste of independence, including getting to grips with the property market. Those going through clearing may have missed out on the opportunity to secure accommodation within student halls and will likely be looking at private rental options. With the current strain on the UK rental market, landlords can afford to be more selective than ever when it comes to finding a tenant. And, sadly, this heightened demand could see students pushed to the bottom of the pile.

Although student housing has different requirements from traditional properties for let, there's still the need to provide assurances and references to protect the landlord while ensuring that the tenant is treated fairly. Nevertheless, without previous rental history, a fixed period of employment, and no other references besides Mum and Dad, a lot of young people struggle to find accommodation that doesn't require a large deposit. Students who lack financial support from their parents could find themselves with nowhere to turn, especially when landlords request a rent guarantor. It's important that the playing field is levelled, and options are available to secure a suitable and comfortable home for this big life step.
